Jameson's seemingly ever expanding line of fine whiskeys makes for an exciting taste tour. The 12 year Jameson Irish Whiskey does not let down. There is a bit more sherry used in this 12 year whiskey, and a great amount of the Jameson pot still. This whiskey was first introduced to the public in 1996, and has become a favorite whiskey of many.
This Irish whiskey has an awful lot going for it, it has a moderate price range, and a strong and reputable name behind it. Jameson 12 year old Irish Whiskey makes for a great special occasion whiskey, it's got a very universal taste, and there is very little that is unpleasing to the palate from this whiskey.

Nose: Rich Pot Still mixes nicely with a quiet sherry. The Oak does not overpower this Irish Whiskey, however there are vanilla notes spread out within the fruit and spice of this whiskey.
Taste: Big, big pot still characteristics in this 12 year old whiskey, but there is an almost coffee like flavor that pull thru the still. There is a slight honey sweetness that gives way to fruit and caps off wonderfully with a sherry end.
Finish: The finish on the Irish whiskey is long and lasting, providing no real surprises, just great pleasure. You will still note the pot still and coffee, with a little visit of cocoa. The very last is a bitter oak and grain barley to boot. Very complex, very satisfying.
